Lesson 64
Dije, Traje, and Saying “Ago”
Language Transfer Complete Spanish is by Mihalis Eleftheriou. Listen to the original audio first; use these notes for revision.
Hace + time = ago. Hace literally means "it makes" — so "two weeks ago" = "it makes two weeks": Hace dos semanas.
Semana = week. Mes = month (el mes, masculine). Siete = 7 (September). Dos = 2.
Responder = to respond. In Spanish, "I responded her it" (se lo respondí) is more natural than "I responded to her letter" — Spanish uses fewer possessives.
Discriminar = to discriminate. The preterite "you informal" ending: -aste (-ar) / -iste (-er/-ir). Both have an s AND a t — two markers for informal you.
