Irregular preterite stems — all share the same endings (-e, -o, -ieron, -iste, -imos) with NO accent marks:

Ir and Ser share the SAME preterite: fui, fue, fueron, fuiste, fuimos. Context always makes it clear.
Fun sentence: Vino con vino = He came with wine. Traje un traje = I brought a suit.
